The challenge
In 2015, a gold mining plant in Peru with an altitude of 3,000 meters needed to protect its existing RO unit from contaminated leachate water. The plant required a quick, reliable, and high-quality water treatment system to meet peak demands in the summer months and prevent the existing RO membrane from collapsing or releasing contaminated water into the environment. It was also needed to leave a small footprint and operate in challenging geographies.
The solution
The Aria FAST mobile membrane system was chosen to treat the mine leachate, guarantee the availability of a quality water source, and increase overall capacity. Furthermore, its modular, self-contained form removed the need for any new buildings or infrastructure.
The results
Thanks to its deployment speed and ability to meet filtration regulations, the Aria FAST unit increased flow capacity and permeability in the plant, keeping the plant online.
